‘I really love to travel across this wide brown land of ours and experience her wonders and delights.’ – Colin Driscoll

‘Not only an accomplished entertainer of true Australian Bush Poetry, Colin through his childhood upbringing in a small country town of Barkly in Central Victoria has pursued his dream to travel and experience the vast rural and outback areas of our great land, and has with passion put ‘pen to paper’ to write a wonderful collection of meaningful poetry such as ‘My Fire’. Colin always has a good story to share and has given many a captive audience a true experience of his love of people and the land.

‘As a family friend of Colin, I have had the privilege to listen to him on a number of occasions, firstly at the launch of ‘My Fire’ at the Moonambel Hotel (close to Barkly) in 2006, and since invited him to perform in front of over 400 people at the Mundarra Muster at Langi Logan, and in November 2009 at the annual Changeover Dinner of Ararat Legacy for over 100 guests. On both occasions his poem ‘The Sheep’ received a rousing round of applause… great effort and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present.’

Dianne Radford
Legatee, Ararat Legacy

‘A truly entertaining and Australian performance enjoyed by the entire of our club. Not many entertainers can keep the attention of our group as Colin did. Highly recommended for a fun night.’

Peter Fontana
Vice President, Creswick Sportsman’s Club

‘Col captivates audiences of all ages with his witty and humorous tales of the Australian way of life. A real joy to watch.’

Fosters Group

‘Banjo’s and Henry’s poems were read regularly to our kids. I trust it helped to instil in them a love and appreciation of the bush, as it did with me. It’s a shame I didn’t have Colin Driscoll’s poems to read back in the 60s.’

Mr Brian Driscoll (no relation)

‘Funny, witty, sad and moving, Colin’s poetry brings ‘Australian’ to life.’
